The big, dependable hotel most first-timers end up in — and for the location, that default is usually right. Copthorne sits up at Kea Farm with 297 rooms and apartments, mock-Tudor styling, and the one thing that really matters at 1,500m: an indoor heated pool. It’s a five-minute walk from the Kea Farm morning market and Raju Hill Strawberry Farm, and the closest mainstream base to the early-morning Mossy Forest jeeps. It’s large and a little dated, with a package-tour feel in the lobby — you’re booking it for the position and the warm pool, not boutique charm.

Our independent tip

Book it for the Kea Farm position and the heated indoor pool, not the décor — it’s a big, slightly tired package hotel, so ask for one of the renovated rooms. If you’re a family who’d rather cook, the self-catering apartments in the same Kea Farm cluster (the Equatorial Hill Resort blocks right next door) often work out cheaper and give you a kitchen for the market produce.

Frequently asked questions

Is the Copthorne Cameron Highlands good for families?

Yes — it’s the big, easy family choice: 297 rooms and apartments, family rooms, an indoor heated pool, and a five-minute walk to the Kea Farm market and the strawberry farms. It’s more practical than charming, but for a first family trip the location is hard to beat.

Does the Copthorne have a swimming pool?

Yes — an indoor heated pool, which matters more than you’d think: Cameron sits at around 1,500m and the air stays cool year-round, so an unheated highland pool is usually too cold to enjoy.

How far is the Copthorne from the strawberry farms and Mossy Forest?

It’s right at Kea Farm — about a five-minute walk to the Kea Farm market and Raju Hill Strawberry Farm, and it’s the closest mainstream hotel to where the morning Mossy Forest jeep tours set off.
